Optional Rules/Clarifications
- The Illegal Procedure rule will not be in use, nor is the 4-minute “timer” rule. However, you may be given a certain amount of time to complete your game should you be running late.
- Normal resurrection rules are in effect, meaning that SPPs are not recorded and injuries do not carry over between games
Team Building Rules
You are given 1,150,000 gold pieces to build your team using the approved team lists. You may purchase players, rerolls, apothecary, dedicated fans, coaches, and cheerleaders as normal. Team rosters must consist of at least 11 players. Star Players do not count toward this total.
We will be using the updated BB 2020 team lists from the BB 2020 Rule Book, the GW produced Teams of Legend document, and the NAF Rules for Tournaments document.
The latter two documents can be found online at the following sites:
Teams of Legend https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/jsC3I47S92B7QwND.pdf
NAF Rules for Tournaments https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/NAF-Rules-for-Tournaments-2021.pdf
You may purchase players, Rerolls, Apothecary, Cheerleaders, Assistant Coaches, and Dedicated Fans as per the normal rules from the BB 2020 Rulebook. You must have at least 11 players.

With your initial 1,150,000 GP you may also purchase inducements from the following list.

Additional Skills
After you build your team with the 1,150,000 gold pieces your team gets 160k GP to purchase skills
20k GP for a Primary Skill
40k GP for a Secondary Skill (30k for players on a Stunty team. Stunty teams are Ogre, Goblin, Halfling, and Snotling)
All skills are assigned before the tournament begins and should be reflected on team rosters.
Each player may receive no more than 2 added skills, though those skills must be primary skills.
There is no limit to the number of any single skill, so if you want block on six of your saurus (sauri?) and one skink then you can.
Star Players
Star Players can be chosen from the list within the BB20 Rulebook, Spike Magazine 11
Please note there is no highlander rule, and any star player is allowed to face off against him/herself.
Prayers to the Squig Gods
The Prayers to the Squig Gods table will be used in place of the Prayers to Nuffle Table. Additionally at the beginning of each half, each coach will receive a roll on the Prayers to the Squig Gods table.
NAF Tournament Info
This will be a NAF approved tournament. If you wish to receive limited edition yearly gift and have your tournament progress tracked, there will be a NAF official onsite accepting registration for the cost of $5/year. More information can be found at TheNAF.net
SCARS
This tournament is approved as a part of the Southern Central Amorical Regional Series (SCARS) and coaches will receive points as a part of the series.
Timing
The time limit WILL be strictly enforced. You will receive ‘Time Remaining’ updates from the Tournament Organizer to help you stay on pace.
When time is called, you will play “even turns”. If you just started turn 7(for example), then you and your opponent each finish turn 7. If the inactive player has already played the current turn the game ends upon completion of the active player’s current turn.
If requested by one of the players after an hour has passed a chess clock may be used by an official to keep the game on pace.
Dice
Only GW, NAF, or Texas Block Dice will be allowed. You are required to share dice with your opponent if requested.
Scoring
During each round, you will fill out a score sheet to track your progress. At the end of eachmatch, you will add up the scoring as follows:
- A WIN is worth 55pts
- A DRAW is worth 25pts
- A LOSS is worth 5pts
- If you lose by 1 Touchdown, you earn +2 bonus pts
- If you caused 1 more CAS from Blocking than opp you earn +2 bonus pts

- If you clear the pitch you earn +5 bonus pts (Once per game)
- If you won by 2 Touchdowns you earn +2 bonus pts
- If you won by 3 or more Touchdowns you earn +5 bonus pts
- If you finished the game by using all turns +3 bonus pts
There is a no championship game the standings will solely be determined by total points
Overtime
There will be no overtime played. If your game ends in a draw, it’s draw.
Tiebreakers
The scoring system has been setup to hopefully get the most accurate representation of how everyone has performed. If, by chance there is a tie in Tournament points, the ties will be broken in this order:
- Head to Head
- Winning Percentage
- TD Diff + Cas Diff
- TD Diff
- Triple Skulls
Painting
All teams are expected to meet the minimum painted guidelines. They must have 3 colors on them and have had some attempt at making them appear finished.
Sportsmanship
We are here to enjoy the game of Blood Bowl. We expect good sportsmanship. Note that fouling 16 turns in a row and running up the score is not poor sportsmanship, however gloating and ridiculing your opponent while doing so is.

Prayers to the Squig Gods
- Treacherous Trapdoor: Until the end of this half, every time any player enters a Trapdoor square, for any reason, roll a D6. On a roll of 1, the trapdoor falls open and the player is immediately removed from play. Treat them exactly as if they had been pushed into the crowd. If the player was in possession of the ball it bounces from the trapdoor square.
- Friends with the Ref: Until the end of this drive, you may treat a roll of 5 or 6 on the Argue the Call table as a “Well, When You Put it like That…” result and a roll of 2-4 as an “I Don’t Care!” result.
- Stiletto: Randomly select one player on your team that is available to play during this drive and that does not have the Loner (X+) trait. Until the end of this drive, that player gains the Stab trait.

- Feral Squig: A Squig Enters the field through the trap door on your opponents side of the field. Squig (MA special, ST 3, AG 4+, PA -, AV 9+, Skills: none) You must place the squig as close to the trap door as possible is the trap door square is occupied. At the beginning of your turn the squig will move d6 squares in a random direct. the first move is made using the throw-in template, facing the far sideline all other moves will use the scatter template. If the squig does not have to dodge to leave marked squares. if it would run into a player it immediately ends its movement and throws a block at that player. The squig will always follow up on a block. If at the end of a drive the squig is still on the field the ref will remove it.
- Squigherder Grounds Crew. The Squigs slobbered all over the pitch when they were “clearing” the field. Until the end of this half, apply a -1 modifier every time any player attempts to Rush an extra square.
- Snotling Kombucha. Randomly select one player on your team that is available to play during this drive and that does not have the Loner (X+) trait. That player has partaken of a particularly potent batch of the fermented mushroom tea that is popular at the stadium. Until the end of this drive, that player gains the Thick Skull skill and the Regeneration trait.
- Snotling Superfans. A clan of snotlings that are fans of your team have snuck into the stands. Your Fan Factor is increased by one for the remainder of the game. Also add one cheerleader for the remainder of the game.

Randomly select one player on your team that is available to play during this drive and that does not have the Loner (X+) trait. Until the end of this drive, that player gains the Foul Appearance skill.

Randomly select one player on your opponent’s team that is available to play during this drive and that does not have the Loner (X+) trait. Until the end of this drive, that player gains the Bonehead trait.
Squigball
Each Coach controls one squig.
Squigball Squig
MA 5, ST 3, AG 4+, PA -, AV 9+
Skills: Dirty Player (+1), Diving Catch, Sneaky Git, Stand Firm
Randomly select play order.
In reverse play order each coach places their squig two squares from any sideline or endzone, but no closer than 3 squares from another player.
Four balls are dropped onto the field. One in each “sweet spot” (7 squares from the sideline and 7 squares from the line of scrimmage) and the other two close to the line of scrimmage (7 squares from the sideline and 3 squares from the line of scrimmage) then each ball scatters once.
During each coaches turn they can choose to blitz or foul. If blitzing, before any dice are rolled, each squig that could provide an assist has to state whether or not they will provide that assist and to whom.
Rules for picking up a ball and catching a bouncing ball is the same as in Blood Bowl.
If a Squig starts its turn with a ball they absentmindedly eat it.
A squig cannot hold more than one ball at a time. and two balls cannot occupy the same space.
The match ends after all the ball have been eaten, or until the TO calls time.
Score as follows:
- 1 point for each KO caused by block or foul
- 2 point for each casualty caused by foul
- 3 point for each casualty caused by block
- 6 point for each ball eaten
